Role Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Conceptualization:

    • Research and predict fashion trends to create appealing designs.
    • Collaborate with team members to develop cohesive collections.
    • Sketch designs and create technical drawings.

  • Material Selection:

    • Select fabrics, embellishments, and color palettes.
    • Source materials and negotiate with suppliers.

  • Prototype Development:

    • Create initial prototypes and oversee fittings.
    • Work closely with pattern makers and seamstresses to refine designs.

  • Collection Development:

    • Develop seasonal collections aligned with the brand's identity.
    • Present design ideas to creative directors or stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely and budget-conscious production of designs.

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor and manage stock levels of fabrics, materials, and finished products.
    • Conduct regular stock audits and maintain accurate records.
    • Coordinate with suppliers for timely material deliveries.

  • Order Fulfillment:

    • Manage incoming and outgoing stock efficiently.
    • Handle logistics to ensure timely delivery to retail outlets or customers.

  • Stock Analysis:

    • Analyze stock levels and sales data to forecast inventory needs.
    • Identify and address slow-moving or obsolete stock.

  • Storage and Organization:

    • Ensure proper storage conditions for materials to prevent damage.
    • Organize the stockroom for efficient retrieval and restocking.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a fashion designer with knowledge of stock keeping.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, and materials.
